A member of the House of Representatives from Chibok/Damboa/Gwoza
Federal Constituency, Hon. Biye Peter Gumtha, has suggested that the
surest and simplest way to quash the bellicose stance of the Boko Haram
sect is to clear the Sambisa forest, although he said that this may
require half of the budget estimate for 2014.
The forest, which happens to fall under his constituency, according to Gumtha " is a thick forest with variety of flora and fauna. The terrain is unlike the sahara desert in Northern Borno."

The law maker who described adherents of Boko Haram, holding more than
200 students as wicked and occultic, said despite the fact that the
military had attempted to dislodge the terrorists’ single camp in the
forest, they have dispersed and erected more camps in different
locations in the 60 square kilometers, densely packed jungle, "which
requires the aid of a flash light for you to be able to find your way
even in the afternoon."
He told the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA) that nothing is
known about the condition of the abducted students, a situation that is
causing more anxiety for their parents. "They are not in school or
given out in marriage. Their abductors took them for the selfish reason
of simply cheating them," Gumtha said.
But BBC Hausa, citing some community leaders in Chibok, reported that
the girls have been ferried across Lake Chad to Cameroun and Chad.
