Bomb blast averted in Kubwa, Abuja



A bomb placed in a vehicle at Kubwa, Abuja earlier Friday afternoon has been deactivated by the anti-bomb squad.
Report says the explosive-laden car was noticed close to the Badr Jumaat mosque.
The area was eventually cordoned by the police who were called in by the Imam of the mosque.
Chief Imam of Kubwa Central mosque Sheikh Abdulmumini Ahmad Khalid, also alerted the police.

Insecurity: FCT Minister Orders Abuja Hotels to Submit Guest List to Security Agencies

Senator Bala Mlohammed Embarks on operation ‘know your neighbour campaign’ Senator Iroegbu In his determination to secure  lives and property in Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, has directed all hotels to forward a list of their guests to the FCT Directorate of State Security Services (SSS) and the FCT Police Command on a daily basis. Mohammed announced this directive in a statement signed yesterday by his Special Assistant (Media), Mr. Nosike Ogbuenyi. According to him, the hotels are equally required to install their individual security cameras within their vicinity and ensure thorough check of all vehicles entering the hotel and within their surroundings.
