Borno CAN Starts 3-Day Fast & Prayer For Chibok Girls' Rescue
The CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria) in Borno began a
3-day fast and prayer for the release of the abducted Chibok girls on
Friday, June 6.
According to the State Chairman of the association, Rev. Titus Pona,
who made this announcement in Maiduguri, the fast and prayer became
necessary in view of the high trend of insurgent attacks in rural areas
in the state.
Rev. Titus Pona stressed that there is necessity for special prayers for God’s intervention for the release of the girls.
"I urge you to intensify prayer and fasting so that God will give us
the lasting solution to the killings and kidnapping across the
North-East. I urge you to remain resolute in prayer for lasting solution
to the security challenge in the country," said Pona.
The cleric advised that religion should not be used to commit devilish acts or promote selfish interest
