President Jonathan hosted a special reception in the honour of 2014 CHAN bronze-winning Super Eagles at the State House, on February 13, 2014, Thursday. The President said he was delighted to receive the Super Eagles, the team which made the nation proud. “My dear Super Eagles, I keenly followed your performance from the group stage up to the last 3rd place match. “I noted that you epitomized the true never-say-die Nigerian spirit, especially in the match against Morocco’s Atlas Lions where you came from a 3-goal deficit to win the match against all expectations,” the welcoming message of the President continued. It has also been noted that the team has produced the tournament’s Most Valuable Player of the 2014 CHAN. “Today, some of you are being sought after by renowned football clubs around the world.
