14 Year Old girl arrested after she Kills Her NewBorn Baby
A young teenager was afraid to tell her parents that she is pregnant so she went to great lengths to hide her pregnancy.
She had gone to great lengths to hide her changing 5 foot 3 inch, 100 pound body from her parents.
The pregnant fourteen-year-old girl from Greenbrier Village, Florida was in labor when she went into the family bathroom and delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 9.5 pounds. Cassidy Goodison delivered her baby and she managed to disguise her screams of pain by grinding on a towel with her teeth and running the bath water.
Following the birth she did the unthinkable. She choked her baby to death and hid his tiny body in a shoe box. Then she wrapped the shoe box in towels. This was discovered after she didn’t throw the box away rather she put it with her dirty laundry.
Shortly thereafter her mother went into the bathroom and saw a lot of blood in the toilet she knew had been recently used by her daughter. She took her to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Medical staff treating the teenager told the mother that her daughter had suffered a miscarriage and showed four to five lacerations on her vaginal wall.
The girl falsely confessed to her mother that she had indeed had a miscarriage at home and flushed the fetus down the toilet by mistake. Three days later, a foul odor in from her daughter’s room drew the attention of her mother Teresa Goodson. Upon entering the room she found a pile of soiled, bloody cloths and towels, in which she found the deceased infant hidden in a shoe box.
An autopsy performed determined the baby was born at a full term and that he was alive and breathing prior to death. He died as a result of asphyxia from strangulation and blunt force trauma.
Goodison was arrested and has been charged as an adult with first degree murder after police learned how she killed her newborn baby.
Before giving birth, Goodison wore baggy sweat pant and loose-fitting T-shirts, at home she walked around wrapped in a blanket.
Family members grew suspicious of her appearance and tried to discuss the possibility of Cassidy Goodison being pregnant with the teen's mother. But her mother Teresa Goodson denied the suggestions, claiming that she had her daughter do two home tests, which both came out negative.
After an investigation the teen admitted that she delivered a healthy baby boy in the toilet, and then strangled him to death. Goodson was arrested on and taken first to the Polk County Juvenile Detention Facility. She is charged with premeditated first degree murder, and aggravated child abuse.
