What appears like a mild drama happened on Wednesday at the venue of the on- going National Conference, when a traditional ruler, the Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Barkindo Mustapha told his fellow delegates that he was prepared to secede from the present Nigeria if the country disintegrates.

According to him, if Nigeria breaks, some people in the country would have no where to run to, but for him and his people in Adamawa Kingdom, they would pack their luggage and whatever they have and join their kith and kin in the Republic of Cameroun.

The Lamido of Adamawa, who is one of the thirteen persons and number three on the list of traditional rulers representing the group tagged, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, also said before the very eyes of other 491 delegates, 6 officers of the Conference and Journalists that he was also ready to lead his people on a walk-out from the conference.

For those who don't know, Adamawa is one of the largest states of Nigeria and occupies about 36,917 square kilometres.

It is bordered by the states of Borno to the northwest, Gombe to the west and Taraba to the southwest.

Its eastern border also forms the national eastern border with Cameroon.
