PHOTOS: Topless Femen Activists Stage Protest Against Turkish Prime Minister At Polling Station


Two bare-breasted Femen activists staged a protest against Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the first day of the country's local elections.

The two FEMEN activists Solène and Elvire who had "Ban Erdogan" written on their chests and backs, were arrested in Istanbul after baring their breasts at a polling station where turkish prime minister was supposed to vote.

Although Erdogan had already changed the location of where he was due to vote, young women broke into the polling station, removed their tops screaming loud "Ban Erdogan!"



Recep Tayyip Erdogan has come under fire over an Internet crackdown, that included Erdogan's Twitter ban and YouTube blocking.

Erdogan claimed that his political enemies launched a "dirty campaign" of espionage to implicate him in corruption and topple him.

Erdogan's Islamist-rooted AK Party showed a strong lead in the polls when the first results came in on Sunday evening.

Femen carried out earlier actions in Turkey, a topless Femen activist was arrested after taking part in an anti-Erdogan protest at an airport in Istanbul  in July last year.

At their official Facebook page, the Femen activists wrote:



"In the day of municipal, so called, "elections", together with brave Turkish activists FEMEN is banning Erdogan and his policy of shutting down Internet resources, activating rules of police state and forcing Islamization of a free and secular Turkey.

There can't be free elections in a dictatorship of Erdogan.

Erdogan, your game is over! Erdogan is banned by free world, by free Turkey!


Dictatorship of Erdogan became a fact, so revolution becomes people's right.

FEMEN is joining Turkish holly riot against theocracy.

Erdogan, today we warned you, next time we will watch you and slowly pull out your every mustache hair to enjoy your little suffer.

See you soon, Erdogan! Ban Erdogan!"

And a day later they wrote:



"We still have no news from the two FEMEN activists Solène & Elvire who lead the protest "Ban Erdogan".

Few hours ago after they were taken away by unknown people, we received a short phone call from them saying that they were arrested and they had been severely beaten up by pro-AKP protesters."

Stop JTF’s invasion of Bayelsa communities, activist tells Jonathan

An Ijaw youth activist has condemned the recent invasion of Azuzuama and Lobia communities in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State by operatives of the Joint Military Task Force, JTF. The activist, Udengs Eradiri, also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to prevail on JTF to stop further invasion of Ijaw communities.
